LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary men's soccer team hosted Ottawa University Saturday afternoon, falling 1-0 to the Braves
The Spires are now 0-3-1 overall on the season.
Neither team could find the net in the first half despite both teams finding multiple opportunities. Ottawa nearly found the net in the first four minutes of the second half, but Enrique Gonzales stepped in to make the save. Sabino Lozano and Osvaldo Reyes took the first shots for the Spires in the period, but neither would connect.
With 12:16 remaining in the game, Ottawa was able to sneak in a goal to take the lead. Saint Mary had a few chances down the stretch, but no shots were able to cross the goalkeeper.
Lozano led the team with three total shots and Paul Trejo had two.
