Lawrence, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Basketball team took on the Kansas Christian Falcons on Saturday to conclude the Braves Booster Classic, resulting in a 75-60 win. The Spires are now 2-0 on the season.
Saint Mary held a seven-point lead as the first half ended, leading 39-32. The Spires built on their lead after the break, outscoring the Falcons by eight in the second half.
Deshaud St. Martin led the Spires in scoring with 17 points on the night. St. Martin also had ten rebounds, starting the season with back-to-back double-doubles. Demarius Houston also had 16 points, including two threes. Houston also facilitated the offense with five assists and seven rebounds. Bryce Johnson had the most points off the bench, with 13 in 24 minutes. The Spires attacked the rim all night, resulting in 17 free throw attempts, and capitalized on that with 15 makes at the line.
