A solo home run from the Blue Jays made the score 4-1, but Alexis McDaniel answered with a home run of her own in the bottom half of the inning to make it 5-1. A nine-run fourth inning from Tabor gave them a five-run lead heading into the final three innings of the contest. The Spires were able to chip away at the Blue Jay's lead, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth, two of them coming from another home run by McDaniel. Saint Mary was unable to retake the lead in the bottom half of the seventh and dropped game one 10-8
