COLUMBIA, MISSOURI. - The University of Saint Mary women's basketball team clinched a hard-fought 67-60 road victory over Stephens College. The win was the Spires' first of the season, bringing their record to 1-2. Saint Mary pulled ahead with a dominant fourth quarter, outscoring Stephens 23-20 to seal the game.
Demi Aamold led the way for the Spires with a team-high 15 points, shooting 45.5% from the field and sinking three of six from beyond the arc. Alanis Delgado was a steady contributor with 12 points and three rebounds, while Addison Tower came off the bench with an efficient 11 points, hitting two three-pointers and all three free-throw attempts. Keely Barnard and Kate Harter added crucial scoring late, combining for 14 points.
Saint Mary showcased efficient shooting overall, hitting 45.8% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range. Their free-throw accuracy of 78.9% (15 of 19) helped keep the pressure on Stephens. The Spires capitalized on Stephens' mistakes, forcing 17 turnovers, while limiting their own to 19.
