Game One
Brianna Solis got the start in the circle to open the day, throwing five innings and allowing just one run on four hits. The Saint Mary bats woke up in the third inning, driving two runs across the plate. Audrey Spellman and Alexis McDaniel drove in two more runs in the bottom half of the fourth to give the Spires a comfortable 4-0 lead. A solo homerun from the Owls in the fifth made it a three-run ball game. Allie Cox came in to relieve Solis in the circle, striking out one to help shut the door on the Owls in game one.
Game Two
The Spires found themselves down early after a three-run top of the first. Ally Dias and Megan Brinkman responded by driving in two runs to pull within one run of William Woods. The Owls had another big inning in the top of the second, scoring four runs and taking a 7-2 lead. Saint Mary chipped away at the lead that the Owls had amassed, driving in runs in the third and fourth innings, but more runs from William Wood put the win out of reach for the Spires as they fell 9-5.
