USM men's bowling eagerly began their 25-26 campaign this past weekend in the Mid-States Collegiate match held in Wichita, Kansas. 
The event opened up on October 18th commencing with 6 games thrown on Saturday and 16 baker games played on Sunday. Junior 
Kalym Henry shot a 1188 through 6 games, averaging a total score of 198, leading the way for the Spires. Followed closely by fellow teammate and senior leader 
Dantoine Ballard Jr. bowled an overall score of 1090, averaging out to a score of 181.6. Junior 
Zaylen Dear was a close third place finisher within the team putting up a score of 1021 through 6, giving Dear a tournament average of 170.2 on the weekend. 
The second day of play brought with it 16 baker games, where the Spires total a score of 2762 to increase USM's overall point total to 7818. This tally on the weekend gave the Spire men a 23rd place finish on their opening tournament. 
Looking ahead, USM Bowling will hit the road again on October 25th-26th to compete in the Jayhawk Collegiate tournament with the men's side bowling in Lawrence, Kan. at 10:00 a.m. and the women's side bowling in Topeka, Kan. at 9:15 a.m.
