Leavenworth, Kan—The University of Saint Mary and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is thrilled to announce
Evan Maritz has earned the KCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor, the conference office announced Monday. Student-athletes are selected for their performances from March 9-15 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by
Athletic Solutions.
The junior from South Africa had nearly as good of a week as you could get, going 5-6 throughout singles and doubles matches combined. Maritz won all three doubles matches at the No. 2 slot against Bethany College, Ottawa, and Friends this past week and was instrumental in leading his team to a clean 3-0 start in KCAC action.
Further, Maritz racked up two singles wins at the No. 3 over the Swedes and the Friends Falcons. USM tennis is heating up to have a great Spring campaign with a competitive match between the OKWU Eagles quickly approaching this Wednesday, March 18
th at 10:00 a.m. on the Spires home court at David Brewer Park.
