Setting the Standard: Spire Women's Bowling Closes an Exciting Chapter

Leavenworth, Kan. Spire women's bowling team put together a strong and consistent season, showcasing their skill, development, and resilience at every competition. The young team's ability to perform under pressure and support one another was evident and exciting to watch throughout the year, leading to steady progress as a program. With a solid core returning and momentum on their side, head coach Chris Beall and assistant Mike Gonzalez are well-positioned to build on this success in the seasons ahead.

The Spires battled each weekend, and saw athletes come up big when it mattered most. The lone senior on the squad, Jordan Reynolds, led her team to a 5th place finish this season at the KCAC Men's & Women's Bowling Tournament in Topeka, Kansas where the Spires would fall just short against the Avila University Eagles. The senior from Spring Hill, Kansas would average 176 over her 35 games bowled this year and she would also add notable recognitions with two top 25 placements, two top 10 placements, and earning her place on two All-Tournament Teams this season.

The USM women opened their season in exciting fashion, placing top 10 at the Mid-States Collegiate event, one of their highest placings in this opening tournament, and continued to show competitiveness all season long, consistently rising to the occasion and embracing every challenge with determination and positivity. Match after match, they demonstrated their ability to stay engaged, motivated, and competitive in every event speaks to the strength of the program and sets an exciting tone for what's ahead.

USM is excited to return athletes Leanna Larson who averaged 167 for the Spires this season as well as Brooklyn Smith who nearly averaged the same, coming in right at 163 over the course of her freshman year. The Spires women also finished this season ranked in the top 100 in the USBC National rankings, eclipsing their highest ranking yet in program history—an accomplishment to be incredibly proud of.

The University of Saint Mary is thrilled to see all that's in store for this young group and with the 2025-26 chapter closed, there's a strong sense of pride in everything this group has accomplished together. The foundation they've built will carry forward into the next season. With that momentum and a shared commitment to keep improving, the future of Spire women's bowling holds thrilling possibilities.
